In a bid to ensure sacco members’ children get quality education by staying in school, Alarms Sacco recently received seventy-five education bursaries donated by Mombasa County women representative, Hon. Zamzam Mohamed, in a colorful event graced by the woman rep, her delegates, sacco members and the beneficiaries.

According to the sacco’s CEO Mr. Bynito Ben, educating children has been the society’s core objective for years and in all that time, this was the very first moment the sacco received such an enormous donation from a leader amounting to over ksh. 375,000 benefiting numerous sacco members all at once.

“Most of our members who are mainly security guards have limited financial capabilities such that when a leader such as Hon. Zamzam comes on board to help keep our children in school, we are really grateful,” he stated.

The CEO, acknowledging the vital role educated young people play in communities and organizations like Alarms Sacco, he encouraged that, “Institutions such as saccos belong to the young people, our children. We shall all, at some point, leave all these to them and that is why we must strive to educate them.

To ensure more young people benefit from sacco societies’ transformative services, Alarms Sacco is currently working on a product specifically tailored to young people’s needs. This product will see young school going boys and girls, under the guidance of their parents or guardians, immensely benefit from the incredible positive impact Alarms Sacco has been having on its members’ lives and livelihoods.

“Each young person should know that it is their time to join a sacco and through such youthful products we are developing, the young people should feel as part and parcel of the sacco community,” he stressed.

Cognizant of the current business trends, Bynito hinted that the sacco had digitalized its services and products to reach the enormous untapped potential of the young people that are constantly on the digital platforms.

Further, the sacco’s digitization process is also meant to facilitate efficiency and provide seamless service delivery to members, enhancing their experience hence offering them value for their hard-earned money.

Speaking to the beneficiaries, Hon. Zamzam appreciated Alarms Sacco for constantly walking and working with her in touching the lives of Mombasa County people.

Despite limited resources in her office, she vowed to make sure every needy child in the county that deserves help is rewarded a bursary to assist in keeping them in school.

“A part from the 75 Alarms Sacco’s beneficiaries being awarded today, I have so far also provided full scholarship to 350 young mothers who dropped out of school and are today back in class,” she announced.

Also, slightly above twenty young girls in the county who are interested in learning various skills such as tailoring, beauty, and fashion and design have similarly been enrolled in various training institutes and colleges pursuing their dreams.

With just about ksh 3 million shillings as bursary for the whole county, Hon. Zamzam revealed she recently also offered full scholarship for 15 boys and girls to be trained for shipping jobs.

“We received over 2000 applications for these positions, but only managed to select and award just 15. This is a clear indication of how much is needed to be done to help the people in Mombasa County,” she asserted.

As a leader, she advised, one must always ask themselves what value are they bringing in the lives of the people, adding that this transformative journey she initiated with Alarms Sacco will not just end with the 75 education bursaries.

“I understand the struggle people go through to take their children to school. We are making sure we help our children and the community the best way we can to make certain we don’t lose them to vices such as drugs.

This new partnership between Alarms Sacco and Hon. Zamzam Mohamed, ‘Mama County’, has she is commonly known, will momentously help the sacco move a step closer to its long term goal of ensuring sacco members’ children equally get to reach the highest level of education possible.
