Tower Sacco has expanded its physical footprint in Kenya’s Coast region with the opening of a new branch in Mtwapa, strengthening its capacity to serve members in one of the area’s rapidly growing commercial centres.
The new outlet, located at Petrocity, Naivas Mall Mtwapa, on the second floor next to Absa Bank, gives the Sacco an additional customer-facing facility through which members can access its financial services.
The expansion comes as SACCOs increasingly compete on accessibility, convenience and service delivery, alongside traditional strengths such as savings mobilisation and affordable credit.
For Tower Sacco, establishing a presence in Mtwapa provides an opportunity to bring its services closer to existing members while creating greater visibility among potential members and businesses operating within the wider Mtwapa and North Coast market.
The branch was officially opened by Head of Operations Daniel Wanyoike and Head of Marketing Jacinta Maina, together with the Mtwapa branch team led by Branch Manager Peter Gotho, members and partners.
The new facility is expected to provide a more convenient access point for members seeking to engage with the Sacco and utilise its range of financial solutions.
Beyond increasing the number of physical service points, the Mtwapa investment signals the importance Tower Sacco places on proximity to members as it grows its regional operations. For a member-owned financial institution, branch expansion can also provide an avenue for deeper member engagement, stronger savings mobilisation and increased uptake of credit and other products.
Mtwapa’s position as a busy commercial and residential centre makes it a strategic location for financial institutions seeking to reach traders, employees, entrepreneurs, professionals and households.
The new branch therefore gives Tower Sacco an opportunity to build relationships with a wider pool of customers while strengthening its visibility in the Coast region.
The expansion also comes at a time when SACCOs are balancing physical presence with digital channels. While mobile and online services have become increasingly important, accessible branches remain valuable for members requiring personalised financial guidance, account support and services that benefit from face-to-face engagement.
Tower Sacco’s Mtwapa branch consequently adds another layer to its member-service infrastructure, reinforcing its strategy of taking financial services closer to the people it serves.
With the new outlet operational, the Sacco will be looking to convert its expanded physical presence into deeper member relationships, increased business activity and stronger participation in the cooperative financial system along the Coast.
